Ukraine may consider the increase of exports of its pulp and paper products to the African continent within the next several years, according to recent statements, made by some leading Ukranian analysts in the field of paper business and state officials.
That will be mainly due to the ever growing demand for pulp and paper from local customers and the growth of its consumption.
Despite the pandemic and associated with this negative consequences for global economics, the demand for quality pulp and paper in the majority of African states remains high, which provides good opportunities for growth for Ukranian paper producers in the local market.
As part of these plans, a particular attention may be paid for the increase of exports to Nigeria, which is one of the most economically developed African states. Planned volume of supplies are currently not disclosed.
Prior to 2014, most of Ukranian pulp and paper exports were sent to Russia, however, due to the current tensions between the two countries, these supplies have been almost completely stopped in recent years.
