Mondi continues active exports of its products to China this year, according to recent statements, made by Klaus Peller, CEO of Mondi SLPK, the Russian subsidiary of the company, which were made in an interview with the Russian Rossyiskay Gazeta business paper.
According to Peller, this year Mondi SLPK began exports of its pulp to China by rail transport.
As Peller he also added the demand for Mondi SLPK products in the Chinese market is steadily growing, which is also due to the ongoing recovery of the country’s economy from the pandemic and its consequences and the active economic development of continental part of the country, particular its central and western provinces. The level of their economic development has always been significantly lower those located along the Pacific Belt, however in recent years the situation has changed.
According to Peller, despite the fact that since the beginning of the pandemic a large number of people have switched to remote work, the demand for office paper has dropped. Still, this has not had a major negative effect on the utilization of capacities of the company, which remained on a high level.
