Uzbelistan, a country in Central Asia, may consider the increase of production of silk paper, which is expected to take place at the capacities of some of the country’s leading paper factories.
One of them is the Meros paper mill, which is located in the Konigil district of Samarkand region, being considered a historical center of papermaking in the country.
In fact, the production of silk paper – a type of paper, which is characterized by perfect smoothness and color - began in Uzbekistan as far back as in the 8th century, when Chinese troops invaded their region, however in recent years its production has been almost completely suspended.
The production of such paper involves the use of some ancient manufacturing technologies, details of which are kept in secret.
