Supremex will close its envelope facility in Edmonton in 2021, affecting 39 jobs, according to Pulp & Paper Canada.

The company estimates the closure will save approximately $2.4 million.

“We deeply regret the effect that these measures will have on employees and their families, and wherever possible, we have worked with them on early retirement possibilities,” says Stewart Emerson, president and CEO of Supremex, in a statement.

The company acquired Royal Envelope in February 2020. Supremex operates 13 locations in six provinces in Canada and another three in the United States.
