Belgian VPK Group has come to an agreement with COPI Holding to buy British Encase Ltd, manufacturer of corrugated cardboard packaging, Euwid reports.
Encase is one of the UK's largest independent multi-site manufacturers of corrugated packaging with two integrated corrugated packaging plants in Banbury and Leeds, England, and one sheet plant in East Kilburn, Scotland.
According to Euwid, VPK plans to merge Encase with its UK corrugated operations, which comprise three corrugated packaging plants in Wellington, Desborough and Selby. The combined businesses are expected to achieve yearly sales of more than £200m in corrugated packaging and sheets. They have a combined containerboard consumption of 300,000 tpy, which represents a major part of the non-integrated recycled containerboard consumption in UK.
