Under the headline “First glimmers of hope of revival on Germany’s newsprint market”, Euwid reports that players on the newsprint market in Germany are seeing signs of a revival in the business with advertising flyers and inserts.

As Germany starts to ease some of the lockdown measures it imposed to stem the spread of the coronavirus, this seems to be having positive effects on the market for newsprint. At least, newspaper publishers say they are hopeful that advertising will return in June, Euwid reports. Commercial printers, too, say they are seeing signs that the inserts business is coming back to life.

However, things are still a long way off from normal levels, and paper producers are idling machines. facing an extreme drop in demand in the country.
