Dow Coating Materials will showcase its revolutionary new EVOQUE™ Pre-Composite Polymer Technology, which increases titanium dioxide (TiO2) efficiency, at this year’s Eurocoat Congress and International Exhibition, September 27 – 29th, at booth B-23 at the Grande Halle de la Villette in Paris.
EVOQUE™ Pre-Composite Polymer Technology is arguably the biggest leap forward in paint technology in decades and promises to change the way formulators think about hiding and the use of TiO2. The technology improves the particle distribution and light scattering efficiency of TiO2, facilitating improvements in hiding efficiency and allowing for up to 20 percent less TiO2 used in the formulation. Additional benefits include improved barrier properties such as stain and corrosion resistance.
Dow Coating Materials (DCM) is the premier supplier of products and technologies to architectural and industrial coatings manufacturers. DCM will be partnering on a joint stand in Paris with Brenntag Specialités, part of the Brenntag Group, the world's leading chemical distribution company. In addition to EVOQUE™, DCM will also profile one of its more established technologies, the AVANSE™ range of binders which offers many advantages to both industrial and architectural paint formulators. For example, the binders are used in metal coatings to deliver advanced anti-corrosion performance, and in interior wall paints to deliver exceptional scrub and stain resistance. Dow Coating Materials offers a range of 100% acrylic and styrene acrylic latex binders worldwide based on AVANSE Technology.
"As ‘Experts in the Science of Solutions’, DCM is uniquely positioned to drive change by delivering innovative chemical solutions that contribute to human progress and the growth of business," said Anton van Beek, general manager, DCM, EMEA Region. "Since introducing the first waterborne paints more than thirty years ago, we have been pushing the boundaries of paint and coating technologies. Now, at Eurocoat, we have the opportunity to showcase our tried and trusted AVANSE™ binder technology alongside our breakthrough EVOQUE™ Pre-Composite Polymer Technology which will change the way that paint formulators think about hiding, " he added.
Alongside the tradeshow that attracts 350 exhibitors, is the Technical Conference, where Dr. Andrew Trapani, DCM’s Head of Research and Development, will deliver two papers. The first will explore the subject of in-situ production of TiO2-polymer composite and its use for the production of high performance waterborne coatings, and the other paper will examine the production of acrylic polymers from biomass and look at feasibility and life cycle analysis considerations.
