Fibrek Inc. announced recently that the scheduled shutdown at the Fairmont Mill during the third quarter for the replacement of two decker drums and annual maintenance will begin on September 12. Originally planned for two weeks, it will be extended for two additional weeks in order to respond to current market conditions.
The RBK pulp market continues to be negatively impacted by wastepaper prices, which remain very high.
This measure will remove a total of approximately 15,000 tonnes of RBK pulp from production, including scheduled outages. Meanwhile, the Company will continue to fulfill its customers’ commitments as usual. The Fairmont Mill produces approximately 215,000 tonnes of RBK pulp annually.
