SCA Containerboard will stop its machine in the German mill of Witzenhausen for 17 days, from June 20th to July 7th; the planned shut aims to move forward with the development plan of the mill by finalising the rebuild of the last 2 groups of the pre-dryer section, including the installation of a new hood.
The first step of this rebuild was done in 2007 with the rebuild of the first 2 groups. The planned rebuild will improve the runability of the machine with positive effect on the quality of all our products, the installation of the new hood will also enhance the responsible energy savings program of the mill. The project will have no impact on the volume output capacity of the mill.
Built in 1975, Witzenhausen, situated in the heart of Germany, is equipped with Gapformer – Fourdrinier machine; its product range includes SCA Testliner 3, SCA Medium HP and SCA Medium.
