SCA package wins at Luxe Pack 2010

The innovative premium case of SCA Packaging’s team in Nicollet, France for the Moët et Chandon champagne keeps the drink cool for two hours and can be re-used in other circumstances. The case won the Formes de Luxe award at the luxury packaging fair Luxe Pack 2010 in Monaco.

"The four-step process at the Design Centre is genuine applied research: when the teams from SCA propose a project to us, we know that it is feasible industrially. For us, that saves time. We can go faster in development in order to better satisfy our customer," explain Jean David Jacoby, International brand manager at Moët et Chandon and Patrice Baraud, Responsible development manager at Moët et Chandon.

The Fresh Pack is both aestetic and functional matching the summer consumption of Moët et Chandon’s champagne. The target was to combine freshness with nomadism by creating a isothermal case to keep the champagne cool for two hours. Moët et Chandon has also released festive versions of the Fresh pack for the end the year.

At the same time the case offers an sustainable element as it can be re-used in other circumstances. "In the future, for sure, we will use a biodegradable polyester film which was not possible at the time of the design of the Fresh Pack", explain Jean David Jacoby Patrice Baraud.
