Pyroll is a Finnish family enterprise operating in three business areas: Packages, Contract Converting and Paper Merchant. Three units of the Pyroll Packages - the Lempäälä, Tervajoki and Ypäjä plants - have received, together with the packaging repro Marvaco, the prestigious HD Flexo partnership certificate. The certificate is a quality standard defined by the Belgian company EskoArtwork, which is a forerunner in flexo printing technology and provides integrated packaging and printing pre-production solutions. This was the first time when EskoArtwork certified flexo printers in Finland.
The certificate specifies the printing quality of products printed using the HD Flexo technology. This involves the use of state-of-the art digital printing plates as well as Pyroll-Marvaco cooperation in saving the settings for printing and proof sheeting. For each printing machine, the technical requirements for optimum printing result are defined individually.
The need for HD Flexo solutions has increased as Pyroll´s customers are increasingly upgrading to complex raster images and smooth colour transitions in their flexo printed packages. They used to be extremely challenging to reproduce in flexo, but now sharper images, smoother tints and a greater colour gamut can be achieved. Especially bakeries and other companies in the food industry are constantly elaborating their packages and demand higher printing quality.
The Pyroll units now certified produce a wide range of packages. The plant situated in Lempäälä (Pyrollpack Oy) makes paper bags and paper wrappings, Ypäjä´s plant (Ypap Oy) flowpack laminates, fastfood wrappings and industrial wrappings, and the Tervajoki plant (Polyno Oy) flexible plastic packages and plastic films.
