Double A recently hosted Korean media on a trip to its pulp and paper mills in Pachinburi province and introduced its sustainable sourcing of raw materials through Paper from KHAN-NA, a unique Thai solution to sustainable paper making.
The mill visit was held on October 19, 2010. The Korean media were impressed by the unique and sustainable Paper from KHAN-NA (planting trees on unused spaces in between rice, corn, tapioca and other crops resulting to its full utilization) as a source of fibre used in the manufacture of double quality papers. Aside from being a stable source of fibre which leaves old growth forests unharmed, Paper from KHAN-NA's natural intake of carbon dioxide (CO2) helps in keeping ecological balance. "Papers are from trees and trees are very important to the balance of the ecosystem", said Mr. Thirawit Leetavorn, senior executive vice president of Double A (1991) Plc.
"We are a global company; we are part of the global community. We are not united by race but we are united in making this world a better place to live in. Paper from KHAN-NA is our way of creating an environment where we have a better place for future generations of the world" added Mr. Leetavorn during the interview.
Double A "Better Paper, Better World" is Double A 's Environment Awareness campaign was first launched in South Korea on the 26th of October 2010
