Glatfelter Company, a global supplier of specialty papers and engineered products, has announced that its Composite Fibers Business Unit (CFBU) is launching a new product called GEPAGREEN from its Metallized Products group.
GEPAGREEN is a unique, sustainable metallized paper designed for wet-glue label applications such as returnable beer and water bottles. The fiber mix of the base paper consists of up to 35% recycled materials (post-consumer waste), and at least 65% of the remaining fibers from sustainable forestry resources. GEPAGREEN offers the same performance and quality as traditional products out of its broad range of Metallized Products.
"GEPAGREEN allows printers as well as brand owners to strengthen their sustainability position and push green technology and materials further," says Fabrice Werner, Sales & Marketing Director of CFBU. "And because of its metallized look, the Glatfelter product allows designers to create eye-catching labels that consumers consistently choose over typical white-label beverages."
Werner explains, "Because of the process we use, the aluminum and coating on GEPAGREEN, like our other metallized papers, are thin and light, and thus compatible with our customers’ printing and manufacturing processes. It’s part of Glatfelter’s ongoing commitment to develop sustainable products in every niche that are versatile and highly functional for our customers’ applications."
