FSC introduces new label

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) have recently undergone some changes to their labelling system. They have simplified the language and created a new trademark logo.

Feedback from FSC members was the old label system had become too confusing and the detailed text was found un-meaningful to customers. The mixed sources label was an example of this and will now be listed only as "Mix" with the simple statement "from responsible sources". A change we believe will make it easier for your customers to understand the wood comes from a managed forest resource. The criteria for meeting the FSC standard is still the same, only the artwork has changed.

The new logos are effective now however FSC are operating a transition period up until January 2011. Any re-prints or new jobs after this time will need to showcase the new labels. Pre-existing material does not need to be re-printed.
