Cascades acknowledges the launching of the very first standard for the management of eco-responsible events, developed by the Bureau de normalisation du Québec, at the specific request of the Réseau des femmes en environnement and the Conseil québécois des événements écoresponsables. The standard establishes a consensus and provides a reference guide that sets out safeguards for the new generation of gatherings, of all scales, all over Québec. Leader in the recovery and the manufacturing of green packaging products and tissue paper, Cascades is proud to support this innovative initiative as official partner of the Conseil québécois des événements écoresponsables.
The standard for managing eco-responsible events is destined to become the best reference for organizers who are concerned about combining sustainable development with their events, and will guide them in the steps they need to take to achieve this. Ultimately, the standard aims to reduce the environmental impact of events that take place in Québec as well as stimulate benefits for the local economy and community.
"Cascades is pleased to be associated with the Réseau des femmes en environnement and the Conseil québécois des événements écoresponsables, with which it shares a commitment to be a fore-runner with regards to sustainable practices", stated Alain Lemaire, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cascades. "I hope that the standard launched today will incite companies and event organizers to include a green dimension in all their gatherings, thus making Québec a model with regards to eco-responsible events."
