Sustainability remains one of the key elements of corporate policy at Myllykoski. The Finnish printing paper manufacturer is committed to integrating the concept of sustainability into the entire value chain and, to prove this, is developing efficient business solutions of high environmental and social quality in cooperation with customers and suppliers.
Myllykoski's annual sustainability report, now in its eighth year of publication, reflects this strategy and contains concrete examples of it as well as a perspective that extends beyond the principles of sustainable management. The report provides an overview of the measures implemented by the company to demonstrate its commitment to economic, environmental and social responsibility - from increased sales of certified papers, to the commissioning of new power plants in a bid to reduce emissions of CO2.
"In line with our customer service strategy we're not only co-developing mutual business solutions with our customers and suppliers - we are also involving them in our sustainability work", says Erkki Peltonen, Director Sustainability at Myllykoski Corporation. "In return, they not only accept and respect our efforts to manage sustainability, they also make an active contribution throughout the entire value chain."
Highly efficient production processes and products form the basis of as optimal a balance as possible between economic, environmental and social factors. In addition to the effective use of energy and raw materials and maximum recycling, the company supports sustainable forestry via forest certification.
