Packaging supports digital novel

This pull strip is part of a promotional packaging that is being used to support the introduction of the first digital novel worldwide.

The author of the TV classic "CSI", Anthony E. Zuiker, has reinvented the crime novel. His latest thriller, "Level 26: Dark Origins", takes the reader not only in printed form but also digitally into a new world of horror.

Every 20 pages the book refers to a so-called "cyber-bridge": On the Internet the reader can watch an approx. 3-minute film that continues the story. This means that each book contains a complete film. "Fear on a new level" promises the publisher. And the new packaging developed by the STI Group also reaches such a new level.

The high-quality promotional packaging with cardboard slide mechanism sets the stage for the book and further means of communication. The centrepiece of the packaging, the book itself, has an additional cover. The clever trick of the book packaging is a pull strip on the front that gives one the impression of a zip fastener. This picked up on the motif of the title and translated it in an original way to enable the book to be skilfully staged in the retail outlet.
