In November, China imported 960,000 metric tons of pulp, a decrease of 47,000 tons from October's import total. Figures are according to China's General Administration of Customs. The administration reported in the first 11 months of 2009, pulp imports rose 44% year-on-year totalling 12.67 million tons.
China also imported 270,000 tons of paper and paperboard in November, approximately the same amount as October. This however is a fall of 9.2% during the first 11 months of 2009 compared to the same period in 2008. Meaning 2.99 million tons was imported.
