The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), an official seal for undressed timber and wood products. It shows the commitment to the worldwide preservation of natural forest resources and that they are making a valuable contribution to responsible forestry and thus to active environmental protection.
The eco-seal shows the purchasers as well as the final consumers that the wood comes from forests that have been farmed in an exemplary manner. With it, the original forestry company is also inspected by an independent body as according to internationally stipulated environmental, social and economic standards. From forest to final customer, products with the FSC seal pass through numerous stations and ownership structures. It is crucial that all owners within this chain are certified.
Mank will be able to offer FSC-certified tissue products upon request in the first phase starting January 2010. A corresponding Airlaid product range will follow shortly thereafter.
