Japan’s Oji Fibre Solutions will invest a total of A$100 million (US$68 million) to develop its automated cardboard box production capacities at a factory in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Under the plan, Oji Fibre Solutions is to complete the expansion project in 2021.

“The new facility will replace the existing Shands Road operation with a purpose-built building, state of the art box-making and printing equipment, and more automation,” said Grant Fitzgibbon, the chief operating officer of packaging at Oji, as quoted in a statement.
