U.S. paper and cardboard producer Graphic Packaging International has declared it will continue produc-tion activities at its East Angus plant in Canada despite the com-pany’s plans to open a new factory in Kalamazoo, in the U.S. state of Michigan.

Under the plan, the production facility in East Angus will continue its operations as the only cardboard plant in Canada’s Quebec, accord-ing to the information obtained by local broadcaster Radio Canada.

The plat in Kalamazoo is to be fitted with a capacity to produce some 500,000 tonnes of recycled paperboard per year.
