Bulgarian paper mill Svilosa AD has announced plans to invest €30 million in modernising its facility.
The project is related to the company’s plans to expand its output capacity from the current 150,000 tonnes per year to as much as 200,000 tonnes per year.
Under the plan, the facility will obtain new cogeneration, reports local news site Publics.bg. The designed power and heat generation will be enabled to burn biomass, and Svilosa’s facility will also be fitted with a new substation, with works expected to be completed by the end of 2015, according to Krasimir Datchev, the company’s majority shareholder.
Svilosa says it is the only producer i of bleached kraft pulp and related products in the Bulgarian market. The company is based in Svishtov, in Bulgaria’s northern part, and operates its facility in the Western Industrial Zone.
