As one of rare industries in Bosnia and Herzegovina that is permanently recording increase, the wood sector reported an export higher than 1 billion Bosnian Marks (BAM) (~511 million EUR). That is for 9.3% higher compared to 2013, said on 1st April in Sarajevo Secretary of the Association of wood industry and forestry of the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH, Selma Baslagic, as the Sarajevo times reports.

Selma Baslagic emphasized that the export of furniture in 2014 was 35.4% and is for this year 5.1% higher compared to the last year, while the export of sawn wood rose by 28.9%.

According to her, parallel with the export of the final products, export of raw materials and sawn wood is increasing, but should be reduced, because the final capacities have a problem with the provision of raw materials.
