The Storopack group of companies represented in 60 locations across 17 countries achieved consolidated revenue in 2014 of approximately 353 million euros. Ending the financial year with a good profit above that of the previous year and revenue targets for 2014 were exceeded.
The start of the current financial year has also proved positive for Storopack. Success for the specialist in protective packaging was as a result of the constant development of its product portfolio which is well-suited to current market conditions.
Storopack achieved revenue of approximately 209 million euros in Europe, approximately 89 million euros in North and South America, and approximately 55 million euros in Asia. At present the company employs 2,402 people, 645 in Germany (20 more than the previous year). Storopack is expanding its position as a solutions supplier. As well as development of optimum protective packaging the company’s expertise extends to ergonomics at the packing station, increasing productivity of the packing process, and improving materials flow at the customer’s sites.
Storopack is further expanding its presence worldwide in leading markets. In April 2014 Storopack acquired a majority stake in Action Specialty, a Florida company which offers loose fill, paper padding, air cushioning and other padding systems. In July 2014 Storopack took over the protective packaging product division of Cleanpak (Tampa, Florida), a producer and marketeer of loose fill and other products such as BUBBLEplus® packaging film and Mailerplus bubble-lined mailing envelopes.
These acquisitions strengthen Storopack’s position in the USA as a complete supplier of protective packaging solutions.
