Russia’s Lesinvest to invest $350 million in expansion of production by 2017

OOO Lesinvest, one of Russia’s largest timber companies, plans to significantly increase the capacities of its Segezha pulp and paper mill, one of Russia’s largest pulp and paper producers, during the next several years, according to Sergei Pomelov, general director of Lesinvest.

The volume of investments in the project is expected to reach RUB 12 billion (US$350 million).

According to the company’s plans, the production of unbleached paper sack should reach 360,000 tonnes by 2017, compared to the current 250,000 tonnes. The project also aims to improve the quality and reduce production costs.

At the same time the second investment project involves the increase of production of paper bags up to 90 million pieces.
