Cowi's has been awarded a major contract for the Södra Cell Värö expansion project by Valmet, one of the main contractors. Cowi’s contract includes electrical and instrumentation design of the cooking plant, as well as handling of the white caustic soda system and Plant Design of the entire fiber line. The contract is expected to run until September 2015.
- It feels very comfortable to have been entrusted by Valmet to project this expansion, says Uno Olsson, Marketing Director for Forestry at Cowi.
As previously announced, the pulp mill Södra Cell Värö will be expanded significantly, increasing production capacity from the current 425,000 tonnes to 700,000 tonnes of pulp per year.
The expanded plant is planned to be operational in the third quarter of 2016.
