US based technology firm Minerals Technologies launched its FulFill E-325 technology in late 2010. The new technology enables paper manufacturers to reduce the cost of paper production by increasing the usage of precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC).
PCC is a specialty pigment for filling and coating high quality paper. The FulFill E-325 technology reduces fibre consumption and allows paper manufacturers to produce quality output at lower cost.
Minerals Technologies recently signed a contract to supply FulFill E-325 technology to a paper mill in North America.
Joseph C. Muscari, CEO at Minerals Technologies, said: "We continue to gain ground with paper companies interested in cost savings by replacing expensive fibre with more PCC. We are very pleased that this paper company has adopted our technology, which further verifies its effectiveness and our commitment to advance our technological leadership with papermakers around the globe. We now have commercial agreements with papermakers in Asia, Europe, Latin America, North America and South Africa and are actively engaged with an additional 21 paper mills worldwide."
Minerals Technologies has already equipped 16 paper mills with FulFill E-325 technology.
