Voith announces that it has signed a contract with Klabin that involves the modernization of PM 9 at Klabin's Monte Alegre Plant, Telêmaco Borba, (state of Paraná), Brazil.
The value of the deal was not disclosed.
The project will focus on increasing the machine's board production up to 15% and improving the quality of its products.
Upon completion of the rebuild, PM 9 will be capable of manufacturing up to 440,000 metric tons of board grades per year, including liquid packaging board, used for liquid packaging and folding boxboard, used for various packaging applications such as breakfast cereals, pies and breaded foods.
Currently, PM 9 has an annual capacity of 380,000 tons.
