International Paper announced that it is partnering with leading paper, packaging and visual communications media merchant Antalis to launch its coated paperboard brand Arktika in France. The cooperation between International Paper and Antalis France, starting in April 2014, will provide greater availability of Arktika to customers in the French graphical printing segment.
Arktika is one of the leading GC1 brands on the French market, and is used mainly in high-end cosmetics and confectionery packaging, as well as in media packaging and book publishing.
"Arktika is the perfect choice for graphical printing thanks to its excellent printing performance. Its consistent quality has made Arktika a leading brand in graphical printing in many other markets in Europe," said Thomas Gosteli, Coated Board Sales Director at International Paper.
"We look forward to working together with Antalis to expand the distribution network and provide new differentiated service solutions to printers in France."
Next to the cooperation with Antalis, International Paper will continue to offer Arktika also on a direct basis to packaging converters in France.
The Arktika range is suitable for offset and silk screen printing and is also adapted to digital dry toner and a number of HP Indigo printing presses. It lends itself perfectly to all types of converting processes such as die-cutting, grooving and folding, and is the ideal substrate for a variety of finishes including embossing, matte lamination, hot foil stamping and varnish.
