Paperlinx is calling on German antitrust regulators to investigate Sappi Europe, arguing the paper manufacturer is restricting Paperlinx's customer choice in indent business. Sappi says that the accusations as unfounded, reports Euwid Pulp and Paper.

Paperlinx Limited, together with its German subsidiary Deutsche Papier Vertriebs GmbH, has filed an antitrust complaint against Sappi Europe SA with the German Federal Cartel Office (Bundeskartellamt), "in respect of alleged ongoing infringements of EU and German competition law".

Paperlinx accuses Sappi of limiting Paperlinx's market potential. By restricting the customers to whom Paperlinx is able to make indent sales, Sappi's practices are having a serious impact on Paperlinx's ability to compete, according to Paperlinx who says that this is also a disadvantage of printers and other customers in the industry.

Sappi is aware of Paperlinx's announcement. "Paperlinx's allegations are not new. Sappi Fine Paper Europe had already some time ago carefully analysed the accusations and had and will continue to reject them as being entirely unfounded," a company spokesperson explained, as quoted by Euwid Pulp and Paper.
