According to Euwid Pulp & Paper, Billerud Korsnäs plans to invest around SEK220m in rebuild measures at one of the board machines in the Gävle mill “to support further growth” in the liquid packaging board market. The project should increase machine capacity by around 10% and would be carried out during a scheduled maintenance shutdown next year.
This year’s sales and earnings of Billerud Korsnäs was to a large extent shaped by the merger last year: net sales in the first nine months of 2013 were SEK14.82bn (2012: 7.36bn). Operating profit came in at SEK916m (464m) and net profit was SEK583m (316m).
