Hamburger Rieger has taken the final decision to substantially invest in the expansion of its top-quality White CCM production. With a total investment of 18 million Euros, Paper Machine 1 in Spremberg will be converted for the production of coated WTTestliner (containerboard).

The conversion of this machine will be carried out towards the end of 2014, with a start-up at the beginning of 2015.

With this planned conversion Hamburger continues to advance the quality and expansion of its product portfolio by further strengthening its position as market leader in coated and uncoated testliners. As a result this conversion will allow the production of coated test liners in widths up to 280 cm. Hamburger Rieger’s second plant in Germany, in Trostberg, will continue to expand the production of specialized coated papers, especially for Preprint.

The investment is part of the strategy of Hamburger Containerboard to expand its total production potential in the White market (White Top

Testliner coated and uncoated) in the medium-term from the current 450.000 tons to 750.000 tons.
