Voith has commissioned GAW technologies to deliver the wet end chemicals and working stations for BM12 as well as the coating colour preparation for BM12/13 of Asia Symbol Rizhao, Shandong Province/China.
Asia Pacific Resources International Limited (APRIL), established in 1993, is one of the leading fibre / pulp and paper manufacturers and one of the world’s largest producers of bleached hardwood kraft pulp. The integrated pulp and paperboard mill Asia Symbol in Rizhao commenced commercial operations in 2005.
The board machines 12 and 13 will share the same coating colour kitchen. Coating colour preparation is one of the key competences of GAW technologies - a globally preferred supplier wherever value-creating solutions in processing plant for the manufacture of refined paper and cardboard need to be found for individual customers. Four coating colour mixers will be installed to ensure the particular flexibility of the coating colour manufacture for the mill site in Rizhao. Also a wastewater treatment system will be erected to ensure lowest impact on the environment. Environmental conservation is an important part of APRIL’s principles.
The new board machine BM12 will produce liquid packaging board for the food industry (special hygiene standards will be executed during the installation works) and will have a width of 4.6 meter and a production speed of 900 m/min. The start-up is scheduled for summer 2014.
