CMPC to expand chlorine dioxide plant in Brazil

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. announced recently that it was awarded a contract by CMPC Group's Celulose Riograndense Ltda. for the design and supply of an integrated chlorine dioxide plant for its pulp expansion project in Guaiba, Río Grande do Sul, Brazil.

Officials did not disclose the contract value.

The plant will produce 60 tons (equivalent to 55 metric tonnes) of chlorine dioxide per day.

Under the terms of the contract, Jacobs is designing and engineering the plant, supplying key equipment and materials including Jacobs' proprietary Chemetics(R) equipment, and providing technical services for plant erection, operator training, commissioning and testing.
