Jungheinrich is introducing a new Auto Pallet Mover (APM) — the ERC 215a — in May 2013. This pedestrian truck comes with the latest generation of environmentally friendly three-phase A.C. technology, operates automatically in the warehouse and can handle payloads of up to 1,500 kilograms. “The ERC 215a represents an inexpensive alternative for standard transport operations,” says Dr. Martin Schwaiger, Head of APM at Jungheinrich. The new driverless transport system from Jungheinrich is designed primarily to carry out recurring transport assignments. In its standard version, the truck can handle lifting heights up to 4,000 millimetres, with higher heights available on special order.
Featuring a compact design and small turning radius, the ERC 215a can be integrated into existing warehouse management systems. “Integrating an APM in the respective infrastructure is fast, easy and safe,” says Schwaiger. The truck uses reflectors and laser navigation for precise warehouse orientation down to the millimetre. Schwaiger continues: “Our modular system design offers great flexibility, making it easy to add further trucks.”
