Ahlstrom recently announced that it will increase prices for its beverage materials produced by the Food and Medical business area. The increase will be up to 5% depending on markets as well as the product and the agreements in place.
The price hike is the result of continued high level of raw materials as well as utilities-related inflation, Ahlstrom said.
The price increases will affect all beverage related products worldwide and will be effective for all orders placed as of July 1, 2013.
Beverage products, manufactured by Ahlstrom's Food and Medical business area, include materials for teabags and coffee pods. Food and Medical business area's main end-use applications are teabags, coffee filters, food packaging, baking papers, masking tape and surgical gowns and drapes.
