On Friday May 10, a fire broke out at Iggesund Paperboard in Sweden, reports local media. The incident took place on the chemical processing plant, resulting in large amount of smoke. The cause of the fire is reported to be a burning plastic pipe.
No one was injured in the incident. At most 15 firefighters were engaged in extinguish the fire, which was soon under control.
- There are always risks associated with fires, plant manager Hanneli Arvonen told local media, adding that the company will conduct an investigation to further determine the cause of the fire.
