Newark Group now FSC certificated

The New Jersey based company The Newark Group recently announced that the independent auditor SCS Global Services has completed its audit on all six of Newark Group’s recycled paperboard mills and says all six are now Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) chain-of-custody certified.

Along with its recycled paperboard operations The Newark Group operates a network of paper recycling facilities and a converting division.

FSC is a non-profit organization that sets standards to ensure that forestry is practiced in an environmentally responsible and socially beneficial manner. The FSC Chain-of Custody process ensures consumers that the FSC-certified products they purchase are coming from responsibility managed sources.

“This is a significant enhancement for The Newark Group,” says Raymond Vargo Jr., vice president of sales, Newark Paperboard Mills. “The FSC is the gold standard of forest management, and we are proud of this achievement. It is also a valuable resource for our vendors and customers.”
