The Brazilian pulp and paper company Suzano Papel e Celulose (Suzano) has suspended its renewable energy and the Piauí pulp mill expansion projects, according to Euwid Pulp and Paper.   The resumption of these projects was dependent on macroeconomic and market conditions, and on the company's level of debt, according to Suzano. Suzano will now focus on productivity improvement and debt reduction measures.

Suzano planned to set up a eucalyptus pulp mill in the north-eastern part of Brazil at an investment cost of €1.7bn. The mill was expected to start production in mid 2016.
