Ilim Group said that it has completed a RUB 40 million upgrade to the Ust-Ilimsk mill's first bark boiler in the mill's PPP boiler turbine shop.
The new equipment was installed and existing equipment was repaired, which included a new horizontal air heater to help to improve the quality of cleaning of boiler heating surfaces.
The upgrade of the boiler will allow to increase steam production and capacity of the turbines. Improved design of the boiler will also ensure a thorough removal of stones, sand, and dirt from bark waste and thus reduce equipment downtime related to cleaning.
The Ust-Ilimsk mill produces bleached softwood kraft pulp, unbleached sheet pulp, unbleached pressed pulp, wood chemicals and biochemical products. The mill has a production capacity of 630,000 tons of market pulp per year.
