Schumacher Packaging, a German packaging producer, plans to build a new corrugated board and packaging plant at the Airport Park FMO in Greven, reports Euwid. The move will enable Schumacher to locate manufacturing closer to key sales markets such as northwest Germany, Scandinavia and the Benelux countries.
The new facility will create some 500 jobs in the long term. The company announced it has already purchased a 100,000 m² and owns an option to add another 35,000 m².
In the first investment phase, Schumacher Packaging will build a 20,000 m² production facility housing a corrugator, four converting lines and different finishing equipment.
Construction is planned to begin in spring 2013 while production activities are expected to start in January 2014.
In the long term, Schumacher Packaging plans to invest another €100m in the new site at Greven and expand the facilities to cover a total of 100,000 m².
