Acosense was yesterday appointed the winner of the prestigious award Skapa in Sweden. The competition is organised for the 27th consecutive year by the Foundation Skapa, which distributes the Innovation Award in memory of Alfred Nobel. The award was presented during a festive event at Lindholmen in Gothenburg.
The process of electing a winner occurs in two steps; the first is a regional competition with the aim to select a finalist from the county. Acosense have been selected as one of two companies representing western Sweden. The criteria for the jury has been to find the company or innovators who have made the most admirable effort in terms of innovation and creativity in the technical and industrial area.
- We are very pleased and proud to be recognized in this positive way, says Linnéa Lindau, CEO of Acosense. It is good for us as a company, our product and to all who have worked hard to transform an interesting technology to a proven product that works in industrial environments, she continues.
Acosense’s product is an instrument that can measure real-time processing properties such as dry solids content, viscosity, and particle size distribution in various process industries. The product is installed externally to process pipes, and listens to different process fluid properties in real time without being in direct contact with the liquid. This is something that is valued by customers. Installation and service can be implemented in full operation in the production, as the installation is done without ingression to the pipes.
The customer can measure properties in harsh industrial fluids that are analysed without being in contact with the medium. This is desirable in fluids which otherwise might destroy either the measurement instrument or where the fluid may be contaminated in contact with the instrument. The technology is proven in applications in the pulp and chemical industry, but is applicable throughout the process industries, such as paper, mining, food and beverage industries.
