Great Northern Paper (GNP)announces that it will restart Paper Machine #5 and hire an additional 37 workers at the company's mill in East Millinocket, Maine.
PM 5 is scheduled to go back into production by the first week in September.
The hiring represents a 16% surge to its current workforce of 235, GNP said.
- Our business has picked up and is solid right now with a good backing and we see quite a bit of growth potential," said Everett O'Neill, director of manufacturing at the mill, as quoted by Wabi News Maine.
