While the decline of the European market for carbonless papers accelerated during 2011, Idempapers has increased its market share, for the second year in a row. In a difficult economic environment especially for the paper industry, despite exceptional circumstances (floods) and despite historically high prices of raw materials and energy, Idempapers has improved its EBITDA in FY 2011 compared to FY 2010.
The recovery of Idempapers is progressing around its two core businesses: carbonless papers and specialty papers.
In line with its strategy, Idempapers has continued to develop its activities in specialty papers, in order to compensate the decline of the overall carbonless papers market. Globally, the company has consolidated its turnover which amounts up to 145,2 M€ for FY 2011 (from October 2010 until September 2011) against 145,1 M€ for the period from October 2009 until September 2010. It shows that Idempapers has performed quite well in the difficult economical environment of FY 2011. This performance is even more remarkable in that this turnover has been reached despite significant production stops due to the floods of November 2010 and several developments of new products.
Specifically, the turnover in specialty papers has progressed by 30% compared to the period from October 2009 until September 2010. This result is particularly noteworthy given the fact that it comes after an increase of 45% during the first year of activity. Idempapers confirms its long-term focus in the specialty paper business.
