In a change to previous years, Sappi Fine Paper Europe will be bringing its biannual Printer of the Year awards to its customers throughout Europe, rather than getting its customers to come to them. This long standing award designed to reward and recognize print excellence, succeeds in bringing together the top creative minds and experts of the printing industry, showcasing their mind-blowing creations, and giving credit where credit is truly due.
The Sappi European Printers of the Year awards encourage printers to find the best processes, find the best papers and find the best combination of experience and graphic materials to achieve the best results for their customers. It is of great importance to Sappi to recognise printers who give their utmost and set increasingly higher standards in print excellence.
The Sappi European Printers of the Year awards have traditionally been held every two years, congregating all winners (gold, silver, bronze) in a single prize-giving ceremony. As part of a number of initiatives that Sappi is taking to work more closely with its customers under the banner of Sappi, the art of adding value, Sappi wants to go to meet the winners and celebrate with them locally, rather than have the winners come to them.
The date for the final collection round has just passed (31 January 2012) which signals the beginning of the final judging round. All entries that have reached the Hall of Fame through the 4 collection rounds will be looked at once again by an independent panel of professional judges in order to be able to select the ‘crème de la crème’ of print excellence in the different categories. A short list of finalists will be communicated before the end of February. The judges will meet one final time from 5 to 7 March 2012 to decide on the overall winners.
