Production at the Japanese pulp manufacturer Hyogo Pulp Industries has been idled since a boiler exploded on 29 August, Euwid reports. The company manufactures unbleached kraft pulp (UKP) on one production line with a capacity of 200,000 tpy. Production is not expected to be resumed before at least two months.
Experts believe that repairs to the damaged boiler might take even longer than Hyogo forecast, according to Euwid.
