SCA 1Q net sales up 11%

SCA's 1Q 2018 net sales increased 11% to SEK 4,400 million ($505 million), compared to SEK 3,972 million ($456 million) in the 1Q 2017. Sales growth was mainly related to higher prices in the industrial units.

EBITDA increased 47% to SEK 1,175 million ($135 million), which corresponds to an EBITDA margin of 26.7%. The increase was mainly attributable to higher selling prices. Earnings were positively impacted by exchange rate effects, but adversely impacted by higher raw material costs and slightly lower volumes.

Operating profit increased 79% to SEK 889 million ($102 million), compared to SEK 498 million ($57.2 million) in the 1Q 2017. SCA's 1Q 2018 net profit increased to SEK 699 million ($80.3 million) from year-ago SEK 363 million ($41.7 million).
