KFS have recently invested in a Dell PowerEdge server with 56 processors. Rotary kilns are an extremely intensive modelling challenge, and this increase in internal computational power has allowed KFS to model more complex cases, as well as expanding modelling activities into industries such as oil & gas and food processing.

KFS has always had in-house CFD modelling capabilities since company inception in 1999. The modelling work has included fluid flow, mixing, combustion, heat transfer, process chemistry and NOx emissions, previously conducted on high-end laptops or desktops, via eight processors.
