Romanian Competition Council clears paper producer’s acquisition

Romania’s Competition Council has cleared the acquisition of a majority stake in local paper producer Rom Pa-per Brasov by cardboard manufacturer Vrancart Adjud.

The acquisition is estimated to be worth up to €6.5 million. Following the takeover, Claudiu Puchin, the founder and shareholder of Rom Paper Brasov, will continue to serve as the company’s director gen-eral, according to the information obtained by local news site Vrancart Adjud aims to invest in expanding and modernising Rom Paper Brasov's output capacity.

Set up in 2002, Rom Paper Brasov operates a production facility in Brasov, in the country’s central part, and specialises in making tis-sue paper.
