Peikko Group’s legal entity in Germany, Peikko Deutschland GmbH, is undergoing important changes in its manufacturing operations. Currently Peikko has two factories in Germany: in Waldeck, near Kassel, and in Brotterode, near Erfurt.
During 2019 Peikko will make significant machinery investments in Waldeck. The investments will increase the automatization level of Peikko’s current manufacturing processes and extend production possibilities, particularly for customers in the energy sector. The planned investments will be around 4 million euros, and all the machinery will be operational by the end of 2019.
In connection with the investment project, the manufacturing operations of Brotterode factory will be divested as of January 1st, 2019. The buyer of the factory is Buthelor GmbH, a company with a long-term customer relationship with Peikko. The sale includes the factory real estate and most of the machinery. All 27 employees of Peikko Brotterode will be transferred to Buthelor GmbH.
